UUChat
UUPlus Chat provides a simple means of sending and receiving text and binary files over slow and/or error prone data connections not suitable for IP based chat programs.
Though UUPlus Chat will work over any UUPlus supported connection type, it is specifically designed for use with Codan HF modems. Rather than connecting to a server that acts as a relay between to clients, UUPlus Chat connects directly (peer to peer) to a single remote station. Both text and files are transferred encrypted using UUPlus’ low bandwidth, high latency tolerant protocol making the connection reasonably secure.
While connected, users can chat "real time" and use the drag-and-drop feature to transfer files. User typed text and file transfer can be intermixed so chatting can take place during long file transfers.
UUPlus Chat software is free for use with a single remote site connecting in anonymous mode, or can be registered to enable an address book supporting multiple remote sites, authenticated logins for added security, and multiple modem types.
